Summary:
Sub-System Design Engineers have arisen to influence and shape the future of the Defence business in India. The role involves working with business and external stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones thus enabling the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy.
In this role, you’ll be designing cutting-edge sub-system and components for defence projects to deliver solutions that meet both customer requirements and project goals. Working with multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll use tools like PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), CAD (NX) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis) through every stage, taking ownership of the technical details along the way.
Responsibilities :

Collaborate across engineering disciplines—including Verification, Manufacturing, and Services—and with external stakeholders to support key programme milestones in alignment with the Defence Combat strategy.

Design innovative, world-class sub-system and components that operate at the extremes of the environment and meet customer requirements by balancing performance attributes.

Use systems engineering, robust design, optimisation, integration, and innovation tools to develop cost-effective solutions aligned with project timelines.

Define mechanical and functional systems, sub-systems, and components; address issues identified during validation; support in-service operations; and maintain technical responsibility through the approval process.
Qualifications:

3-15 years of experience with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering; other qualifications with relevant experience may be considered.

Strong understanding of Gas Turbine Engine design processes and methods.

Familiar with digital design tools for 3D parametric modelling and design, analysis, and automation of design processes.

Experience of Robust Design, Design for Manufacture (DfM), Systems Engineering is advantageous.

Highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking. Excellent communication, inter-personal and presentation skills, and will need to be able to contribute effectively in a team environment.
